Bowls

One of the turnings I enjoy the most is making bowls. I guess I get pleasure knowing that each bowl is sitting on a table somewhere during a family dinner. Or in the case of several customers filled to the brim with Salad. Not to forget the popcorn on family movie night. Each bowl is hand finished with a mixture of Linseed Oil and Beeswax, a finish that gets better with age and use. Plus the smell of beeswax make for an enjoyable day of hand rubbing the finish in. On any log I get one of the first things I look for is how the grain pattern will look as a bowl.
